Monday I had a meeting at Mesquite City Hall with the City Manager. For my new followers, I am the Virgin Valley Educational Liaison serving my community, attending meetings, providing my abilities, talents and consultant skills when needed and to give my monthly report at the CEAB (Community Education Advisory Board).
(I have over 21 years as public, charter and private school art teacher, with a masters degree in Administration, the local school district refused to promote art educators, so after much consideration I resigned).
This past Friday I attended the Moapa Valley CEAB meeting. At the conclusion of the meeting they approached me to inquire if I would also be their Educational Liaison. I, of course, said YES! Next month will be the elections, voting and new members added on “board”. Although not paid positions, it is very AWESOME to serve my community, fight for the students, parents and teachers where/when they are often overlooked.
Wanted to give you all a small glimpse of our Magical Mesquite community with some “downtown” views.
